Cadillac XTS debuts in Toronto

CIAS will see a lot of cars this year. One of them is Cadillac’s new XTS luxury sedan. As of today, journalists and car guys alike will be able to view the new XTS first hand and see what Cadillac is trying to do to move into the decade swiftly and with class.

GM is investing $117 million in its Oshawa Assembly Plant in Oshawa, Ontario to build the XTS, where GM plans on securing about 400 new jobs. With the new ATS designed to compete with the BMW 3-series and Audi A4 in size, the XTS will be slated as Cadillac’s new large luxo-sedan with new tech galore. Cadillac will be introducing its new CUE in-vehicle experience technology, which will be their instrument interface. The XTS will also feature standard “Magnetic Ride Control”, which Cadillac claims is the “world’s fastest-reacting suspension”.

Power will come from the seemingly modest 3.6L direct-injection V6 featuring 300 hp and 264 lb.ft of torque with front-wheel-drive and 6-speed auto. A Haldex all-wheel-drive system will be optional. This is the only engine that will be available when the XTS launches in the spring. Fuel economy figures have yet to be released for us metric people, but GM indicates 17 city imperial MPG and 28 highway for the FWD model, and the AWD loses one on the highway. Correct me if I’m wrong, but that isn't terribly impressive. Hopefully these numbers will improve.

All the juicy and lengthy details are available on GM’s press release.

This Cadillac’s new XTS luxury sedan looks really luxurious on its metallic finish exterior and the interior features shown above looks really complete and powerful. Who will say no to this wonderful car? The design is so much competitive with other brands in automotive market.
